Electromagnetic Door Closers are fitted to a door in the normal manner but allow a door to be electromagnetically controlled in line with fire regulations. These door closers can be selected to provide a ‘hold open’ facility, or set to ‘swing free’ operation, as if no door closer was fitted. If the fire alarm or smoke detector is activated, the strong electromagnet is disengaged to allow the door will close under conventional spring action. These closers are available in a range of finishes.
