Art Deco Door Knob

The Polished Chrome of these door knobs works so well with the strong bold mathmatical lines. This type of Art Deco Door Furniture make a bold statement and reflects the huge 1900 Modernist Art Movement. The bold vertical lines highlight the symmetry of the time, and the octagonal knobs are reprisentative of the mathmatical shapes that were used in many Art Deco Designs.

Art Deco was a movement which started in France and had its height in the 1920's. It was based on many influences such as the Modernist Art Movement, Bauhaus, Ancient Egypt and Aztec Mexico plus more functional influences such as Aviation and Industry. It represented Contemporary Style and was sleek, functional (at times) and elegant.
